"Bacchant" by Francesco Bartolozzi, Italian, (1727-1815) OilOval stipple engraving, 1778, ed. unknown, 9 9 16 x 6 13 16, signed, titled, dated, with the publisher's info in the plate at bottom, on grayish laid paper, with at least 3 4 margins, a faint scuff to the forearm and breast, and a small discrete compression to the surface at top right of image border. This is stated to be an original composition by the artist, well known for his skillful copies after other artists. A charming image.
